Bridgewater Commons Hosts Third Annual “Go Red Fashion Show and Health Fest” in Partnership with RWJUH Somerset
In celebration of February’s Heart Month and as part of its commitment to community health, Bridgewater Commons will partner with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) Somerset to present the Third Annual “Go Red Fashion Show and Health Fest” on February 22, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the mall’s Center Court and Lower Level.
Event Highlights
- Fashion Show: Hosted by stylist Leslie Patrizio, featuring heart survivors and healthcare professionals modeling clothing from retailers like Athleta, Bloomingdale’s, Chico’s, lululemon, and Macy’s on a vibrant red runway.
- Musical Performance: Pop/rock artist Devon Marie will perform, known for sharing the stage with legends like Debbie Gibson, Dee Snider, and Bret Michaels.
- Health Awareness: Dr. Sanjukta Sanyal, a cardiologist from RWJUH Somerset, will deliver crucial tips about heart health and recognizing heart attack symptoms in women.
- Special Guests: Bridgewater Township Mayor Matthew Moench will speak about the importance of community wellness.
Community Impact
The event is free, with first-come, first-served seating. It aims to educate attendees on heart health while offering an engaging and family-friendly experience. “Heart disease remains the leading cause of death for both men and women in the U.S.,” said Tom Kovacic, Director of Marketing and Business Development at Bridgewater Commons. “We see it as our responsibility to educate our community about heart health.”
Ongoing Initiatives
RWJUH Somerset and Bridgewater Commons collaborate year-round to promote health awareness, including free blood pressure screenings at the Heartchecker kiosk, monthly health programs for walkers, and events like “Walk with a Doc” and “Go Pink at the Commons” for breast cancer awareness.
